The Healthy School Team was set up in 2002 and comprises parent representatives, teaching and non teaching staff, governors and the school cook. It has addressed many areas of school life such as;
An extremely popular scheme which is run by the Year 5 and Year 6 children and managed by our staff and includes organised games at playtime, overseeing of the ‘quiet area’ and monitoring of the ‘friendship stop’ where a child can go and they can be encouraged by the Rangers to join in a group activity.
The healthy schools team have also breathed life into the School Council a valuable forum where pupils’ views can be voiced and changes made! The council is made up of pupil representatives from all year groups and is an excellent channel for communication and fresh ideas, with the traffic running both ways.

The school council promotes responsible consumerism and raises funds through the sale of fairly traded goods and supports both local and international fairtrade businesses.
The Healthy Schools Team welcome any views you have. There is a notice board in the corridor outside Year One where current news is posted for your attention ~ please take time to check it over each term.
Your support is valued.
A national scheme initiated and supported by the school council, to increase the children’s awareness of the local environment and ecological issues. The children work on activities in line with the “Think globally, Act locally” ideal of the initiative.
