Here at Tarporley Primary School, we acknowledge that SATS are an indication of achievement by the end of each Key Stage, however we also believe it is important to track the progress each child makes year on year.
We recently introduced ‘Pupil Value Added’ which is a meansfor us to measure and therefore monitor the performance of every individual child. This form of tracking helps us to ensure each child realises his/her potential.
All pupils are capable of making progress and ‘Value Added’ is a way to show this. Each pupil’s value added score is based on comparing their Key Stage 2 performance with the median performance of other pupils with the same or similar results at Key Stage 1.
The individual scores are averaged so that the school can arrive at an indication of the value it has added to that pupil’s performance.
