First of all my I wish you a healthy and happy2010.
The Autumn Term seems to have flown by; the children worked hard and seemed to enjoy the topics that we studied. This half term term our themes are Africa and Elvis. The children have been involved with the planning of the topics so as part of our Africa topic we shall investigate;
- African music and art
- African sports ( Cup of Nations is currently being played in Angola. Each child has picked a team to support)
- Currencies
- African conflicts
Whenever relevant learning in numeracy, literacy and science will be linked to the topic otherwise they will be taught as discrete subjects. In science this term the children will investigate dissolving, how we see things and reversible and irreversible changes.
Later on in the term Year 6 are holding a Show and Share assembly, to which you will be invited.

Reminder of last weeks literacy homework;
Write a letter to persuade someone to donate to an anti-slavery charity. You need to create a checklist first before you write, then use it to check what you have written .
